CERVICAL CANCER: A POTENTIAL RISK FOR WOMEN 30+
Cervical cancer – a nightmare for many women because it’s difficult to detect early and can rob many of their loved ones of happiness. The story of a woman who discovered she had cervical cancer at age 34 despite regular health checkups serves as a reminder that it’s time to take action to protect yourself.
– In Vietnam, cervical cancer is the 5th most common type of cancer in women aged 15-44 (1).
– HPV is the main cause of cervical cancer. In Vietnam, there are about 4,612 new cases each year, of which 2,571 are deaths (2)
The best way to get vaccinated is as follows:

For both men and women up to age 26: HPV vaccination is recommended at age 11 or 12 (can be started as early as age 9) and for patients who have not been previously vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated until age 26.

For adults aged 27 to 45: Clinicians should engage in a decision-making discussion with the patient to determine whether or not vaccination is appropriate.
